Rice Mutants Search

The rice mutant library was developed through EMS mutagenesis of the Japonica rice variety Zhonghua 11 (ZH11), resulting in a population of 4,611 M2 generation plants. Their genomes were extensively analyzed using whole-genome resequencing with a read depth exceeding 10-fold coverage. The mutation frequency observed was 1 mutation per 350 kilobases (kb), which equates to a screening potential of around 10-25 mutations per kilobase of target fragments. Such comprehensive mutagenesis and high-resolution sequencing provide a rich resource and genetic insights for researchers across the rice genome, enabling precise identification of mutations linked to specific traits or genes of interest in rice.
